SuperTROPO

A new simple immunnoassay test has been developed in the Department of Life Assays in Turku University which recognizes only longer cardiac troponin T forms. The amount of long troponin molecules can be related to the total amount of troponin measured by a test used in hospitals today.

  • A proof-of Principle study has been conducted with the prototype assay
  • The level of longer cTnT forms in blood was significantly higher in MI patients than ESDR patients
  • SuperTROPO separated MI patients from ESDR patients much better than the current commercial cTnT test
